Hello....I've just joined this board, sounds like a fun and informative place to be. I am married, retired, live in Northeast Minnesota with two beautiful female cats we just adopted from the local shelter...I've been quilting for about 3 years and last year won a blue ribbon and a judges choice ribbon in our regional fair....that was so exciting!

Hi and welcome from Duluth. DH almost drove through (on Hwy 135) your hometown yesterday . We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Ely then went to the Whistling Bird for dinner. Our first time eating there and eating Caribbean jerk food. Loved it!

Ginny...this isn't actually my home town....we moved here from Minneapolis when we both retired 6 years ago. We found 40 acres of great land, built a modular home and are just enjoying the rest of our lives doing what we want...well, pretty much what we want.....
Embarrass is also know as the coldest spot in the US..the first winter we were here it was -54 and it was fun to hear from all of our "Southern" friends about how crazy we are!!! But we love it here.

Hello, and welcome from Missouri! I was just in Thief River Falls this last weekend visitng cousins and for a funeral. I hadn't been up there for a while and forgot how flat it is around the Agassiz Wild Life Preserve.
I saw lots of quilt shops, but didn't have time for any shopping this trip.

HI, I'm not sure how to post a picture, but if you go to
Minnesota Quilt Projects and click on Photo Gallery and then scroll down until you come to a picture called County Fair Ribbon Winner.....the first two pictures are my quilt. I also had gotten a 3rd place at the County Fair besides the two blue ribbons. It took about two years to finish and was a Christmas present for my Granddaughter this last Christmas. I used mostly 30's prints, some I bought and some were remants that a friend of mine had.

Hello and welcome from Blaine, MN.
Winters are to cold for me as it is but to move to where it gets so umbelievably cold is beyond my comprehension. A good reason to make lots of quilts to keep you warm. Now I'll think of you every time I hear what the temperature is in Embarrass.

catz/Pat, I looked at your quilt. It's lovely; can see why you won a blue ribbon. I'm sure your granddaughter will treasure it.
