Hi my name is Dawn and I'm 36 years old. I have five children and I'm married. I live in Yorkshire, England. I've never made a quilt before but have always admired how beautiful they are. I'm a very experienced knitter and cross stitcher but feel it's time to try something new. My eldest daughter is leaving for university in a few weeks and I thought it would be nice to make a quilt with her and my younger daughter (who's 11) and perhaps be able to take it away with her when she leaves. I'd like to try a hexangonal patchwork maybe using a charm pack but would appreciate any suggestions on which type would be easiest to make so I could involve both my girls. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated xxx

Hello from Ohio. I think if you did a search on the internet for easy quilt patterns or better yet free easy quilt patterns something should turn up. I don't think I would be able to get a quilt done in a couple of weeks. Better for Christmas. Personally for me I don't like to have a time period of when something should be done, because thats when you make to many mistakes. Good luck and have fun.

Welcome, glad you joined us. Personally, I don't think a hexagonal quilt would be a good one for a first quilt and to be done in a timely manner.
