LOL! Actually my mom is here (quilt4joy) and she makes gorgeous quilts. I'm, um, somewhat biased because of this.

In truth, all the quilts here are gorgeous.

I dabbled in quilting when I was in my early 20s. I have a bag FULL of 2" or 3" hexagons that I was going to do something with but couldn't face handstitching all those pieces together. I can't bring myself to let go of them. Knowing my penchant for switching crafts every few years, I might just have another go at assembling them into a cover. We'll see.

In the meantime, I am 50 years old, have 4 adult children (2 have given me grandchildren and 2 are waiting to have children), 4 cats and a wonderful husband of 25 years (anniversary is just around the corner in December). My ultimate favorite crafts are all fiber related. I'm currently on a crochet kick (making lace valances for my new windows). I prefer working on lace of any kind. I know a little bit of a lot of techniques but not a lot of any one technique.

For quilt4joy, I'm attaching an image of my current project.

Blessings one and all and thank you for an opportunity to share in the joy of your craft!

Love the lace!

I can crochet, but only do one pattern. Have given crocheting up because of problems with my arms, but still get the urge now and then.

Welcome!

Beautiful valance!

It's been awhile since I did any filet crochet. One time I did my usual switcheroo (take a pattern intended for one purpose and make something completely different based on it)and used sport weight yarn to make a shawl using a filet crochet pattern. It came out really nice. Hmm...wonder where that one ended up??

Go on and get out those hexes and play with 'em...you might enjoy it more this go round.

mom-6: I REALLY need to finish the second valance before I even consider pulling another project out of mothballs! LOL!
