Hi from NE California
1 Attachment(s)
Hi! I'm new to this board. I live in extreme NE California with my husband of 12 years and our 2 kids (ages 8 and 5). We live on my husband's 97 year old cattle ranch where we grow orchard grass hay and raise angus cattle. I am a middle school 7th and 8th grade science teacher at our only middle school in the county.
I've been sewing since I was about 8, did 4-H sewing for 9 years, and haven't stopped. I love hand quilting and have completed 5 projects since last summer. I also enjoy crocheting, cooking, and photography. This was my first attempt at machine quilting. I found the pattern on Pinterest. . |

Welcome to the Board. Where are you located? I'm in northeast CA also, in the town of Alturas. Maybe we could get together sometime. Beautiful quilt.

Welcome from Kansas.
|
I teach in Alturas and live in Davis Creek. We might know each other!
|
If you would like some day we could meet in town, maybe at the Wagon Wheel or somewhere. I don't know any of the middle school teachers or anyone in Davis Creek, so it's highly unlikely that we know each other, unless you came in sometime to the used to be quilt shop/UPS store/etc. I'll PM you and give you my phone number and we can talk a little.

Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl:). Also with a little 4-H green in my blood and a lot of farm in my life! Lovely heart quilt.

Welcome to the board Ranch Wife. I lived in Alturas for 16 years and had good friends in Davis Creek. Wish I could join you & pocoellie for a little quilting fun and to see my hometown!
|
That's too bad, Quilting D, that you aren't a little closer, most people have never even heard of Alturas, which is okay with us. LOL It means they won't be moving here. LOL If you ever get back here be sure and give us a PM and we'll see about getting together.
|
Welcome from Missouri!
|
Hello, welcome from Oklahoma!
|
Thanks Pocoellie. I would love to meet you and Ranch Wife. I hardly ever get "home" but glad the two of you may get to meet. Alturas really is a well kept secret.
Ranch Wife, have you lived there for long? How about you Ranch Wife? |
I was born and raised in Alturas. My husband's family homesteaded in Davis Creek almost 98 years ago and my mother's family about the same time. My roots run very deep here! My kids are 5th generation to live here. I went away for college and came back here to teach.
