Hi from Ontario, Canada
I live with my husband and our black labrador retreiver about 1.5 hours east of Toronto, Ontario. We have a country home with 14 acres of parkland, creeks and forest. Our two sons are married and have young families, so far 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. I have been quilting about 4 years now before that I sewed clothes and home dec. I have been a stay at home Mom but volunteered heavily till my husband retired 2 years ago. Now we have a Silverton 34C motor yacht and plan to cruise the Thousand Islands as much as possible. I joined Quilting Board actually last summer but on Aug 1 I had a accident on the boat which landed me in hospital for 6 weeks and bed rest at home till end of Nov. Then it was on to agressive physiotherapy to regain mobility in my right leg and right arm and shoulder. Enough of the sob story! I can now quilt again without too much pain and as long as I do not do it for long periods of time. Would love to hear from everybody.

Hi I am from Colorado and am glad you joined us. I live in a little farm and we are retired too. I am housebound pretty much but find lots of things to do around here. I took up about 13 years ago, (I will be 70 pretty darn quick) and love it. Like to embroider too. Hope you get to feeling better and have a glorious day tomorrow. JO

So glad you are making a recovery finally and can get back to the things you love. If you are up to it, how about joining QuiltE and myself in a patriotic challenge and make something (small if you like) for Canada Day. We have posted the challenge here http://www.quiltingboard.com/quiltin...e-t186260.html for anyone around the world who wants to show their country colours. Good to have you here. |

Looking forward to communicating with you and seeing your quilts and endeavours. Are you a GO BLUE family? We are even though we're in Canada. Oldest son went to U of M for football Quarterback camps then played for University of Western Ontario and graduated poly sci.. and our youngest son went to University in Tiffin Ohio and granduated dean's list. Do you ever go on the forum to chat? Talk to you soon

Hi, and welcome. I just started with the group awhile ago. I can sympathize. I had a pinched nerve in my arm last June and it took until September when I could get most of the action back, but it has really been the last two months when my fingers began getting their finess back. We live in the country.

Welcome LinC ... so happy to have you with us on the QB, and now too, on the Canada Day Challenge! Maybe you'll choose something to decorate the Ship!! :)
You have some great quilt shops out your way ... I was quite take by the one between Trenton/Belleville last fall and another one right in Trenton, near the water. And I hear there is one at Westport you can easily visit when on your boat! |
Welcome to the board from Southern California!
