Hi
I just joined however I have been reading and ogling the pictures for a couple weeks . Very Inspiring!
I started sewing when I was 9 years old, I learned to sew in 4-H. I have made all sorts of garments , costumes, toys, pet clothes etc. etc.
But I have never made a quilt.
I started one a few years ago but ran over my index finger with the rotary cutter , OUCH so I put the fabric in the closet and stuck to the safety of my scissors LOL.
Now I am ready to try again. So I have bought some books and been researching on-line that is how I found this board.
I will work up the courage to use the rotary cutter again LOL.
Thanks and I feel like if I have any questions they can and will be knowledgably answered here.
I can do this!
Joyce

Welcome from Southern California. Please try to keep fingers out of the way of rotary cutters!!! I'm sure that was not a fun cut to have! This is a great place to post any questions you may have about making quilts. There are a ton of experienced, happy to help people here!!

Greetigs from Sacramento CA. You are very brave for trying again. If it scares you too badly, you can get a pair of quilter's gloves. They give good traction and extra protection. I find that I MUST stand over the mat and look down at everything to get the best leverage with my cuts. (Both pressure on the ruler and pressure on the cutter)

If that still scares you, scissors can be used in quilting as well.
Be safe.
