Hi from snowy Montana

I am new here and have been quilting for a number of years, but have been tying them. I would like to machine quilt now. Anyone have any ideas on machines with a large throat that will allow a larger quilt to fit. I mainly do embroidered blocks for toddler quilts, but would like to do the larger ones also. I presently have a Walmart Brother sewing/quilting machine. My embroidery machine is a Babylock Journey Any ideas you may have will be greatly appreciated. Just no Bernina. Thanks

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Get the largest throat space you can afford. Look for the needle down feature as this allows you to reposition your hands without the quilt sandwich moving. There are good videos on YouTube on preparing your quilt sandwich for quilting.

Welcome. I have a Brother PQ1500. They are very low maintenance. Available at dealers and on amazon. Easier to quilt on.

Welcome to the quilting board from Texas. We look forward to seeing what you are quilting. The throat on my domestic machine is small (6 1/2") but I have quilted a twin quilt with no problems. Bunching can be a pain so I would suggest you get what meets your budget if you need a machine with a larger throat. My machine is a Janome Magnolia 7330.

Welcome to the board!
I have a Juki TL2010 Q for machine quilting. It's straight stitch only and a really good machine. I love it.
