Hi from So Cal

I've been quilting for about 18 years, but ran into something I've never noticed before. Can batiks be mixed with other fabrics (prints, solids, etc). I'm into a project and can't decide which fabrics to blend.
Help!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. You can mix batiks with other fabrics of similar weight and feel. If you are doing raw edge appliqué though, batiks stay nice and with less fraying than regular quilting cotton fabrics.

Welcome from NJ. I use batiks with other quilting cottons all the time - no issues. Mix to your heart's content.

Welcome from PA. If it looks good together, I use it. Batiks play nice with other fabric at my house! enjoy mixing it up.
peace
