Welcome from the California desert.

Hi Rhonda. I'm Carol, also from Adelaide and a novice quilter. I agree - so much to read and so many tips. Should be working but I find this much more enjoyable and informative!

Carol B - I'm from Nairne. Are you a hills or city girl?

I'm a city girl (actually I'm not that girly these days!). I work full time and since doing my beginners quilting course have been spending far too much money sewing (a real challenge for someone who can't sew a straight line) and buying fabric online. I'm hopelessly addicted and wish I had more spare time for my new hobby.

Actually brave enough to do some ?straight line quilting

Hi Carol, Also a city girl in Happy Valley. I like your quilt No.2, I have never been a lover of that particular block, but your layout and the quilting give it a whole new look and makes me rethink my decision. Thank you for sharing.

I am from Seacliff Park so we're almost neighbours. I chose that particular block because I thought I could handle it as a novice quilter. At the moment I am trying to finish a quilt for my double bed using 2 jelly rolls. I have almost finished the top but have had to order a couple of extra yards in order to complete it. I sort of used a pattern from a book and then added some ideas of my own. I am into just trying different things at the moment and see how I go. I haven't done any FMQ but am going to give this a whirl soon.

I have to agree with you. The colour choice gives it a whole fresh look.
