My name is Rebecca Ann Whitehead. I have a 15 year old son. I have been seriously sewing and making quilts since February 09 because I was laid off from my job. I joined a sewing group that my aunt belongs too. I absolutely love it and I have learned some new things. For the past two weeks I have joined a new group that is only quilting, the other group did everything. I learned how to hand quilt today, I love it. Next week I will learn how to applique, can't wait. I am only 37 and the other ladies are much older than me, whch has been difficult on occasion to be the "young" one. These ladies are loving the fact that I want to learn from them so it is a good thing to be the "young" one.

Welcome from Ireland. I only joined a while ago, and I just about have the hang of it now, but everyone is very kind and forgiving if you get it a bit wrong. You can learn an awful lot from people here, so jump in and enjoy yourself.

Hello Becky Ann, welcome from Cleveland!
I, too, am new. I've found a new "home" here and learning from all the forum posts. The members are, like your teachers in your group at home, a treasure trove of knowledge and friendship.

Welcome from South Florida. Doesn't make a difference what your age is, as we are all teacher and students. Enjoy what sounds like a lovely group.
