Hi From Texas!

Hi, I'm new to the board ... I've been quilting for 20 years and love all types of quilting ... I suppose I'm a bit A.D.D ... LOL ... I do everything from traditional piecing to English paper piecing, hand and machine applique and paper piecing! I'm excited about being part of this online forum and I do have a question from y'all ... I'm looking for a long arm quilter and am wondering if those of you who have one can give me some advice/feedback about your machines, what you like/don't like and any other advice you have ... I'm looking for an entry level long arm!
Thanks,
Lisa

Well you will get lots of opinions. But you are in Innova country, I would definitely check them out. I talked to them (Jo's quilting Studio - Richmond, TX) and was very impressed. I currently hae a Prodigy but am thinking about getting a computerized machine and if that comes to pass I will definitely be considering them. They have several different levels.

Hi and welcome from dry (& cool) west TX!
I vote for Gamill Statler Stitcher! And I understand Linda's Electric Quilter (AWESOME dealer) is opening a new shop in the Houston area!
This is a wonderful group of quilting minded people who freely share ideas, successes, trials and tribulations! Enjoy!

Thanks for all the welcomes! DJMat ... yes, bluebonnets are out ... my hubby planted some in a bed in our front yard and they are absolutely spectacular!!
I went to the Kingswood Quilt guild show today and talked to the Quilt Frog people.... I think I'm going to get the Tin Lizzie. I'm only looking for an introductory machine and I looked at the Nolting and Tin Lizzie and the Lizzie is much smoother. I liked that this shop will also provide so much assistance and support. I will probably go in Tues and buy it. ... just been looking at as much info on the web as I can get.

Jan just love those pretty blue flowers. Here we have feet of snow and no flowers for a while I am afraid. They are talking more snow for Sunday. Geez, I am so tired of winter. I have to put my boots on to get to the car and then change to my shoes, because we have some water and some dogs at our house who didn't like to travel too far from the garage door when it stormed. Ya get my drift I hope.

Welcome to the Board from East Tennessee. That's a big decision. I bought a Gammill Premier some years ago and it was a huge decision. At that time, I wasn't aware of the Quilting Board and, although I did some on line research, being able to talk to some experienced machine quilters would have been a big help. Good luck with your purchase, whatever you decide.

Hi from Texarkana, TX! Welcome to the QB. I have a Gammill Vision 18-8 that I purchased at the International Quilt Festival there in Houston in 2011. I have really enjoyed it. The Innova is also an awesome machine and I like the HandiQuilter machines. Unless you are just in a super hurry to purchase, I would recommend that you wait until the IQF this November and try them all out. If you want to purchase sooner, there are dealers in the Houston area for several of the major longarm brands so, perhaps you could visit several to try out the different machines.

Good luck and enjoy whatever machine you choose!
