I have a 5 acre farm with goats,ducks,guese,chickens, a Donkey I named Fernando, 3 cats, 2 parrots and 6 dogs, my own zoo :D .
I have learned a lot reading what you guys discuss in the forum and I'm sure there is much more to learn. You guys are great teachers and I'm looking foward to joining your group of awesome people.

Thank-you girls. Love to be here. I love pictures also. I will be posting some as soon as I can figure out how to by-pass the Kodak program that I have in my computer that won't allow me to send pictures without charging.

Welcome to our quilting family Craftybug!

Craftybug 08-04-2008 01:48 PM

Hi Joan, Thanks for the welcome. We have something in common. I moved here to Wendell NC in June of 06 from Pembroke Pines Fl (Ft Laud). I was just welcoming another girl by the name of Lori that just joined this morning, she also lives here in NC she is in Raleigh.

These ladies and gentelmen are amazing, sweet and helpful and I am very happy I decided to join in and make friends with people that have lots in common with me.

Craftybug 08-04-2008 01:51 PM

Thanks Celeste, I'm very excited to be part of the family.

Welcome from Pennsylvania. I Love N.C. We often visit ,since my Aunt lives in Charlotte.

Craftybug 08-04-2008 02:14 PM

Thank you for the warm welcome. I love it here, wondelful friendly people, everywhere you go you get greeted with smiles and big hello's.I'm originally from NY and lived many years in South Fla. so up here is like heaven to me. Only problem is that there is not many places that you can get quilting stuff. That is why my plans for the near future is to open a Quilt Shop/Craft Store.
I'm messing around with my computer and I think I figure out a way to post pictures by the end of the week.

Craftybug 08-04-2008 02:25 PM

Hi Donna, Thanks for the welcome. I used to live in Up-State NY in the Catskills and used to go to that big fleemarket you got up there. Last time I went was in 2005. I live in Wendell NC which is a little east-north east of Raleigh. Wendell is an old fashion town is all still mainly farm land. there is no big stores or anything like that. We have 2 small supermarkets, a post office, 2 banks, 1 family owned drugstore, 1 McDonald, a few gas stations and 3 schools. You have to drive 15 to 20 minutes to get to any major stores but we love it the way it is. Is peacefull and country.
You can see how hard it is for me to get quilting materials. That is why I'm planing to open a Quilt/Craft store in the near future.

Welcome from MN! I went to college in Greensboro and stayed there a few years after graduation -plus lived 5th grade year in Wake Forest (when it was a sleepy little town) and my father and his family now live in Holly Springs in the opposite corner of Raleigh metro from you. Open that shop and next time I am in the area I'll visit!!

Thanks Steph, I love my little town of Wendell. My dream is to open that shop but I need to sell my house in Fla. which has been in the market since I left in 2006 with no luck, the housing market is still really bad down there for sellers.

Thank you sweetie, Yeah I love my farm and is a lot of work plus I also work from home doing medical coding and billing and I still have a 12 yr old at home. And I manage to do it all by myself because my DH is still in Florida waiting on his transfer, he works for the Feds.
Last night I went into Barnbum website "Churchminis" and I totally fell in love with one of her minis named Whisper and her quilts are awesome.

Welcome Crafty!

I'm not sure where Wendell is...I'm in northern Greensboro and we love it here. Lots of beautiful places to visit. If in need of some quilty spots, there are a few other members from the Raleigh area too.

Greensboro has a wonderful shop and she usuallly has 50% sales a few times a year. The anual quilt show for the Piedmont is coming soon too.

Hope you enjoy the area as much as I do.
