Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! It is so much fun to pick up the scissors after a long absence and to sit in front of a sewing machine is like going to heaven and back. I am so glad you are joining us here. I have made my share of mask during COVID and have a couple to do this morning. Need them finished before 2pm. They are almost finished now. I hope you will try your hand at a bit more quilting. This has become my passion after years of garment sewing. Now there is no going back. Jump right in and join the fun and again Welcome to the QB!

Length was fine. it is great to see someone excited about the craft again.

I was in Spokane for the worlds fair. Just happened to be there at the right time. You may not have been born yet.

Welcome from sunny and hot Southern California. We are so lucky to have something creative in our lives. You're in for continued excitement, sometimes satisfaction and often happiness and friendship.

Welcome from the West side of the mountains! I'm just North of Seattle in Kenmore and have been loving the time at home to sew that I've gained from reduced work hours and no commute time - I'm working remotely, when I work. Yeah, the financial part's not good, but I have enjoyed working on donation masks, isolation gowns, finished a baby quilt and last night, started an outfit for myself. Glad you were able to locate a working machine and you're back online. My sewing is my 'me time' and is the treat at the end of the day.

Hi from Manitoulin Island where I retired with the aim to quilt more. I sewed clothes when I was younger, but not great. I Love quilting, but have too many UFOs these days. I bought novelty fabrics and just made a bunch of 'Jesse' masks (love them) for family - that was my second go round. Now I'm starting Jackie White's quilt along with Christmas fabrics- a bit late.

Welcome from So. Cal.
I grew up in WA from 1962 to 1972 - then came to So. CA when my DH was in the Navy and we decided to stay. I started sewing when I was 8 - my best friend had a child's Singer but my mother made me learn on her Singer 15-91. She thought it was better to learn on a real machine than have bad habits from using a toy. (And I only sewed my left index finger once... and that didn't even bother me since I loved sewing so much, I just sat there and my mom moved the needle so I could get my finger out. She was more upset than I was.) I sewed all the way thru High School and stopped when my 1973 Singer portable spent more time in the shop than being used. Then it was just easier and cheaper to buy clothes than make them.

Then some time in 1978 or 79 I discovered quilting and the rest is history. The templates were made with cardboard and rotary cutters hadn't been a thing yet.
