Hi from Wisconsin

Hi - I’m here for inspiration and motivation! I’ve been sewing since I was a kid. Much of that time was at my grandmothers house - her Nickname for me was Stringbean. She was so supportive of my sewing. In fact, I was the only grandchild listed in her will - she left me her machine and sewing supplies. My problem is, I have a hard time finishing what I start! I have a top that I started for my son years ago, and he’s now a teenager - I Need to get it done for him before he’s grown!

Welcome from Oklahoma. We have a post here about finishing UFO's (unfinished objects). There is great inspiration to get them done.

Welcome aboard!

Timing is everything. I have a number of tops that didn't get done in time for my son -- but I'm hoping they will for the grandchild! Since son is 30 and grandchild is on the way, I'm running out of excuses.

Welcome from Maryland. I'd say the majority of us here have UFO's in various stages. I'm much fonder of starting than finishing quilts, but there is deep satisfaction at keeping at it till it's done. When lacking motivation, I will use a 15 minute timer and force myself to make progress for at least that amount of time. Invariably it's enough to get me started and I exceed my timer.
