Quiltingboard Forums - Hi from the Yukon Territory!

I'm so glad I discovered this board!
I'm Vivian and I'm in northern Canada, more specifically, the Yukon Territory were we are just coming out of a month of -30 celcius temps! We are a wonderful -16 C at the moment with the snow falling. A beautiful way to end the year.

I've been a quilter for 2 years now and it's fast become a passion which I've been fortunate to share with one of my daughters (the other one's creative pursuits take her elsewhere).

I currently have several things on the go...the one I need to finish today is my row for a round robin I am participating in. I'm doing raw edge applique flowers this row and need to mail it off on tuesday. I attached a picture below (if it works!) that shows it and shows my said daughter working on her own quilt.

I have a one block wonder quilt in the piecing stage as well as a shadowbox quilt. The shadowbox is nearer to completion so that one will be worked on next.

I will be participating in 3 BOMs this year through PastimesOnline. Valerie hosts a wonderful BOM (I took part last year) so I'm excited to join again. I couldn't choose just one so I may be reaching a bit by joining 3 but seriously...I couldn't choose! I'll be working on HocusPocusVille, Truly Scrumptious, and Pies and Tarts.

A little more about me, I'm 39 y.o., mom to 2 girls, wife/partner (we've been together 19 years, so although not church married, we're considered married by Revenue Canada so that's all that matters). We have two dogs, one cat and live in the mountains on 5 wonderful acres of bush. I love it, the "big city" is only 25 minutes away and it's like we're a world away. Best of all worlds.
