Howdy do, Pam, and how do you do?! Glad you are here. I'm your neighbor in Arkansas. :)

Howdy back to you -- where in TX did you move to? I live in San Angelo which is "West Texas". I am a Native Texian, born and raised here -- I left and went North for a while but I got back as soon as I could!!! Hope you love it as much as we do!

Hi,pricklypear, I am 72 miles southwest of Lubbock. Probablly about that many miles north of Odessa, Midland. I live in a small town of the name of Plains. If you go to Ruidosa you probably come thru here on hiway 82.
Nice to meet you.

Ooh! You moved into the colder part of Texas!!! I live almost 200 miles from Midland/Odessa area. We go there to the airport -- since it's the closest to get Southwest airline. The last time we were in Midland, we found a really nice quilt shop. It was right after Xmas and they have a "backroom" with tons of sale fabric. They had beautiful displays of quilts on display too. Most of them had machine embroidered centers on pieced blocks.
Do you long-arm quilt? I just got a husqvarna Viking 18x8 and the Next Generation frame. It came with the Qbot software. It is new to me and I am still going through the learning curve & lack of confidence. I hope that 2010 will be a good year for me and I can start to post some projects!!!

Yes, we have had snow twice this week, about 2 inches each time. hehehe!! That is a lot for us. Last year we did not have any.

I am just beginning my quilting venture. Right I don't know what kind of quilting I am doing. Never done it before. Looking forward to some classes on machine quilting. I am really intrigued by it, but don't want the long arm. There is a lady in town that I am sure has a long arm if I want to try it out, but not really interested at this point. Who knows what will be on my Christmas list next year!!
I pieced my first top just this fall. I wanted it to fit a king bed and boy, does it ever. Everthing I touch "snowballs". I bought the edging for it today, the backing, and the binding. However, I don't plan on quilting it til I learn more about the pros and cons of machine quilting and hand quilting.
What are you working on?
Nice talking to you.

We had snow last wk too -- I was not ready for it and most of my plants that needed to come in are all sadly ...

I have been a fabric collector for years -- now that most of it is "vintage", I finally have time to work with it but due to health issues -- it isn't moving as quickly as I'd like. Now with this new machine, it's a whole new learning curve!!!

Nevertheless, if you have any questions or just want some conversation, feel free to e-mail me!
