Hi, I'm new here. Glad I found this forum as I've been looking for more resources for making better quilts. I make mostly denim quilts from old jeans. I've made 4-5 traditional quilts, but I really stink at putting them together and doing the decorative stitching/darning. I learned how to make quilts from my Mom who did them the old-fashioned way, by hand.

I'm 39 and live in Maryland for the moment. When we retire, we're moving back to Texas, God willing!

Just last year, my husband bought me a new Janome Memory Craft 6600 and I've been having a blast learning new techniques and this awesome thing called free-motion quilting! I'm really behind on all the latest techniques, so I'm trying to catch up.

Hi all! I am new here too. I have been fascinated by quilting since I was little and finally have done something other than collect pretty fabrics. The picture in my avatar is of my first pieced quilt (I did an embroidered quilt 18 yrs ago). It was supposed to be a baby quilt...but I am not a visual thinker...so it is going to be a baby and mommy quilt for my step-sister. *lol* It is 65 inches square.
I look forward to learning from everyone here! I have been lurking for about a week and have already learned a lot from just reading the posts.
I currently live in Colorado but am a Nebraska farm girl at heart...ummm...other than that, if you would like to know anything, ask! :) Just wanted to say hi!
