I am here from Iowa
I am not sure how I stumbled into this forum...looks so interesting! I am a prolific shopper of beautiful quilting fabrics. And, I sew a lot of charity quilts got our community Christmas projects and a Burn Victim camp, as well as hospice, etc. I started a beautiful applique quilt...that is a learning experience with Lollipop design and Kaffe Fasset fabrics.
We have two sons and four grands...no pets, just to difficult when we go to the southwest in the winter. Thru Covid, I have developed a whole new set of friends....the hosts on You Tube videos. Aren’t they addicting? |
Welcome, Linda T., from Oskaloosa, Iowa!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. I too started me quilting journey with a difficult appliqué top. I hope you get yours finished as I abandoned mine.😂
|
Tartan, perhaps you should join me in this venture of applique...I’m doing machine applique on my Baby Lock. She has such a pretty stitch.
Waal, we were in Oskaloosa during RAGBRAI, and stopped for lunch at the Methodist Church...what a wonderful Chicken something. No, we don’t ride...we chauffeur belongings for 6 riders, and feed them! |
Welcome Tartan, I'm also in Iowa, Carroll County over on the western side.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! Just jump right into the different forums and have a lot of fun. Learn a lot and make some wonderful quilts and develop so great online relationships with people who love fabrics the way you do. I love this board and have been around these parts for a good number of years. There is always something new to learn and it is a world of fun. There are some great swaps and you soon enough you might love joining one or more of them. Again welcome to the QB,

Welcome from another Iowan, although I've only been here 10 years. I'm about 20 miles south of Council Bluffs. I moved here after my husband died to be near my only child and grandchildren.

Hi, Linda T. Welcome from neighboring Minnesota. This is a really friendly, helpful, encouraging group. I'm sure you will like it here.

Welcome from sunny Florida. I also love the videos on You Tube. It inspired me to start making crumb blocks from the many scraps I have accumulated over 40 years of quilting. I am currently watching the beginner's lessons in FMQ. I hand quilted for years but arthritis in my hands has put a stop to that. Hopefully I will be able to feel at east while quilting by machine. You will learn a lot from the member of this board. Good luck.

Welcome from Texas! But I was born in Iowa https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I'm from Iowa, living the good life in Grimes.
Welcome,!! You will enjoy the QB!! Jo |
Hey, I am amazed by all the Iowa people on the board. I live 20 miles from Iowa’s Great Lakes area. We have lost so many quilt shops in a 30 mile area. We have a small shop in my town and a shop just north across the border. So, you can bet I check the shops in Des Moines when visiting our son and spend way to much on the Iowa Quilt Shop Hop.
