Don't stress over it...it is just material. Take it one step at a time and you will learn from any mistakes you make and after 10 years, I am still making mistakes.....buy a good seam ripper just in case....LOL. Welcome to the group!!!

Hi & Welcome from Florida! You've gotten some good advice here & remember that things get easier as you learn. :)

I quilted and sewed for years thinking I could figure it all out. Take a sewing/quilting class and you will be amazed. I literally changed my outlook on quilting and sewing. Good luck. Ginny Potter

You'll also realize that quilting is exactly like life -- we learn a little bit more every day, that we're surrounded by good examples to follow and that we learn much more from our mistakes than our successes! Have fun and post pictures!

Welcome from Wisconsin! I totally agree! Besides, what your kids remember will be that you made the quilts for them, NOT the mistakes! I still get intimidated to cut fabric I really like, but I always think, if I screw this up too badly, I can always make this into something smaller. Let your love for your kids lead the way. m

Hi there! Welcome from Spring, Texas

For a little easy instruction that you can follow step by step try the tutorial section here:

http://www.missouriquiltco.com/

No, I'm in no way affiliated, I just see that they have some very simple tutorials. You can do this. (Don't pull on the material - stretching is the biggest trouble maker.) Also, iron dry. Actually if you need some steam that's ok - just press straight up and down, no sliding - that's where the stretching starts.

Welcome to the QB Family. Glad you're here!
Hugs,
Gayle

do an easy block just 4" block and sash or do a strip quilt. Much easier and less stress to get started. Don't compare yourself to others, enjoy the experience, kids won't see the mistakes
