You may have already tried this but I got some spring type scissors to cut rag quilts with. They make it a lot easier. Other than that I don't know of anything. Oh I did see something on the Flynn quilt frame site and they used a weed whacker....can you believe that!!?? I would have a whole mess of fabric laying there!! LOL

I have arthritis in my spine, hands, neck, almost all my joints but anyway what I do on the days I have no way of holding my rotary cutter, I use my electric scissors. I have to adjust some of the seam, I do use the quarter inch, but it's a little more cut out, but worry not, they look good anyway.
Sorry about your pain, I know it well! Sharon from NC |
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this group and like pickles,I've quilted for years...self-taught mostly, and there's a lot I still want to learn. But Now I'm greiving over the loss of all my quilting supplies, due to a fire 2 months ago that burned my home and everything in it. Quilt magazines and books I'd had since the seventies. Also 4 new quilts I had finished for gifts. I'm looking foreward to getting back into quilting as soon as I can. Luella Arkansas |
Sorry to hear about your loss....thankful that it was just "things" that were lost & not lives.
|
Thank you. Yes, had we been home fire chief said we probably would not have gotten out. I am thankful we were gone. I try to remember what we have left (our lives) not what we lost
