Hi Star, glad you joined. My advice on a sewing machine is to start simple in case, plus sign up for a class at your local quilt store or someplace for beginners. I had Home Economics (3 yrs in high school), plus watched both my grandmothers. Do you have a digital camera? If not, try to get a simple one so you can post pictures on the Quilting Board. The feedback will help you. Good luck.

Welcome from Howick, Québec! Indeed, it is a very helpful forum and the girls and guys here offer both techniques and pictures for us to understand the how-to-do in quilting. I am still working on a 2nd grandchild baby quilt that I started a few months before the baby was born; he is now 7 months old and it is still not finished!!

Have a great summer!

I am also new to this, have been receiving the newsletter for a while. I have talked in live chat some. I made a circle quilt that I told a few ladies about and just need to learn how to post some pics. It only took me 2 years (off and on) to complete. LOL

Welcome from Connecticut - I think we've chated on the live chat. When you're ready to get a machine, you can get a lot of opinions on what's the best one right here on the board!
