Quitahmama.....yes! That is patina copper. My husband was a sheet metal roofer...so he put the whole roof on himself. He got the copper from my dad who worked at revere copper and brass (yes the pots and pans people). For that matter Paul painted the house himself...once at 27 and once at 57!

Welcome to the board!

Welcome! I sew on the exact same Janome machine as shown in your photo :)

Welcome from the west coast! I LOVE the black quilt on your wall, it's very pretty! And is that a Timna-Tarr-inspired quilt underneath it? 😍😍
I hear you about the 5-year plan. We are on year 25 of ours. 😆 Except I've been thinking lately it might be a good home to stay in, it's one level and the hallways are nice and wide, perfect for a wheelchair, should we ever need one. |
Enjoyed the show. I love old homes and your sewing area is great.

Peckish - Yes! I took 2 - 5 day classes with Timna - one in 2022 and one in 2023. We had them at - wait for - Marc Adam's School of Woodworking outside of Indy. My husband goes to school every year there for woodworking and they started offering other crafts. So in 2022, I made the quilt that is attached - it's called Tessa's Mosiac - of my daughter. Then I liked the class so much and Timna so much - I took it all over again. This time I wanted to take the technique and add my own flair - so Sunflower Praise is in process - still haven't gotten back to it. The other quilt which is Eggplant purple - is WIP Homeward Bound - the quilt show's 2023 BOM quilt.

I love it, that turned out great!!!
I live on the left coast, so I took her digital class, which was excellent. I haven't found the right subject/picture to use as inspiration yet. |
