I'm a Newbie but an Oldie

I'm so embarrassed to say that I've been a member since 2010! Shock to me! I went to join and it came up with already a member. So life happens and much has changed in my life. My sister got me into quilting and she passed away last March. I have inherited so much of her material etc. I've been helping my brother-in-law to sell her stuff. Everything that I use or quilt reminds me of her. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and hope to contribute now that I know that I'm a member!!!

So glad you came back "home" and howdy from Texas. Sorry to hear about your sister but I know you will have lasting memories of her getting you into quilting & y'all sharing a common love.
This board is full of fun & information. Glean from it all.

Welcome back! Sorry you lost your sister! Make sure to save enough of her fabric to make yourself a cuddle quilt.

welcome home. In the movie Dances with Wolves, the teamster driver, passing bones in the ditch turns to Kevin Costner and says "You know, people in Boston are saying "Now why don't she write". Not as funny written as it was to hear it said, but I'm glad you aren't a skeleton in the ditch :)

I don't think that -that's going to happen. In our short time together - she bought more than me! BUT - yes I'm am planning a quilt with fabrics that I KNOW we purchased together. I must tell you this...she held in her arms for the last 6-9 months of her life - the quilt that I made for her!!! Do you know how special that made me feel?? Oh gosh...I'm tearing up know. I will get that quilt made!!

I joined a long long time ago too and then I got so busy. I even thought at one point I would just sell all my quilting supplies. Then I joined last year and somehow seeing all the posts got me quilting again. I am enjoying it and glad I didn’t sell my machines and fabric.

Hope you get your quilt made and enjoy the good memories with your sister.
