Hi everyone, I just found this place and I am sure I am going to spend a lot of time here. My name is Maria and I live in Northern New York (for now). I am a scientist at a major pharmaceutical company. My DH lost his job a few months ago at the same place and we are looking forward to move as soon as he find a new job.

I have been quilting for 7 years and have to say that my style have changed a lot in that time. I am doing now my own designs and selling quilt localy to help my family. I love quilting and spend many hours every night at the machine.

I use a very old Bernina (model 817 from 1972) that works wonderfully. My wish is to get the new 8 Series, but that will have to wait. I also own (and use) 2 Kenmore, 1 singer and have a Brother embroidery machine, which I love.

I have three kids (20 yrs girl and 2 boys, 14 and 5yrs), a dog, a cat and 15 turtles (my other passion) Some other day I will go into the details of that.

I am glad I found this place.

Maria

We are in Plattsburgh, NY. This time of theyear is great, but later on is too cold. Not as much snow as Oswego, but much colder. Sometimes colder than Alaska.

Welcome Maria from GA. Sorry I have not seen you on here until now.

My daughter raised two red eareed sliders from the size of quarters to over 10" long--they outgrew the 50 gallon tank they were in and I had to release them for her-she was too attached. They sure were cute and had a lot of personality. Cannot wait to hear about yours!!
