I started sewing at 10 when I tried to make shorts out of a skirt. The 'v' seam I put in was NOT right. lol! From there, I had to know how to make things the right way. I made hundreds of outfits for my 2 DD as they grew up.
The quilting bug bit me while I was recovering from a stroke when I was 32. The elderly neighbor lady (95!) taught me to make a quilt by hand, to help me relearn eye/hand coordination. One and a half inch hexagons of all things! It became a tablecloth for her, and I know she has a special place in heaven for all she did to help me recover. i have lots of time on my hands, when DH is at work, to design and make quilts. I am blessed with people who understand my art for what it is, therapy. Having a stroke taught me that I'd better learn to laugh at myself, 'cause everyone else will. :) I am happier now than I have ever been. I get to make things, and live in beautiful Central Oregon. Thanks for the wonderful welcome you have all given me.

I too have been following your posts. Love your work...you create some wonderful quilts. I think for a lot of us quilting is "therapy" for one thing or another....look forward to seeing more of your beautiful creations.
