Hi I am Jackie from Utah. I have been quilting for awhile-simple things. I quilted some table runners for Christmas that was such a hit I really got excited. I would really like to learn how to applique' and have been looking for some easy beginner patterns or ideas if anyone has any. Maybe taking a local class would be a could start? What doyou think?

Hi! Welcome from central Florida. Check out what the library has - they usually have some sort of selection. I am sure there are video how-tos on You-tube. There are many ways to applique and you will either find one that you like or do different ways depending on the project. I haven't looked but you could use the Search on this board to see if there are "tutes" (tutorials) on applique. Applique is much easier than piecing in my opinion.

Welcome from NM. If your quilt shop offers a beginning class in applique that is probably the easiest way to go, you can learn and ask questions.

Welcome from MO, I'm sure that you will have a great time here.

Yes, see if any LQS are giving classes in your area. Applique is really pretty easy, and once you get the hang of it, you will be able to do what ever you want.

If it would help, I'd be glad to send you some info on doing appique work. If you would like some send me a private message and I'll see what I can do.
