Just Getting Started
Hi All,
I'm just really getting into quilting. My sister-in-law and I took a beginner's class last year, and since then I've made several baby quilts and am currently working on a larger one for my mom. I am also recovering from ankle surgery and am couch-bound for the next several months. Given my newly-acquired free time, I am looking to learn some new skills and get beyond stitch-in-the-ditch and simple piecing. I look forward to picking any willing brains for ideas on projects to help learn and master new skills (I'd really like to learn Dresden circles) and getting feedback on the projects I am working on. Thanks! -L |

Hi, L--from Maryland. I'm sorry about your ankle. No fun. But now's the time to draw, color, plan, maybe sit at a table and sew unless your pedaling foot is in a heavy cast or boot?

Here's a big Howdy from Texas. Glad to have you on the boards & look forward to seeing what you are making. If you like Dresdens you might like Jenny Doan's recent tutorial on a Checkered Dresden Quilt. It doesn't look hard at all to make. I love how she makes the points on the Dresden...so easy! Here's a link to her tutorial that you might be interested in.
