No that is not a new Asian food item, it's just me peeking in for the first time. I came across this quite by accident. While I don't spend a lot of time on the computer, thought that this would be an interesting forum. So "HI"
I did a sample quilt about 15 years ago, and have actively been quilting since a disability retirement for two years. I go to a sit and stitch group on Tuesdays. I occasionally will take a class, but am already overwhelmed by the things I don't know and want to make! Thanks for letting me join, Karen Pisarski aka Sassy Behinditall

Hi Sharon, I live about 30 miles north of Detroit, Michigan. I didn't expect to get a reply so quickly. Thanks a lot for answering! I know a lot of people lerk on the boards. I've found the more you put into it, the more you get out of it, hey, kinda like quilting! Nice to meetcha!

BTW, very pretty quilt, would this be an appropriate place to ask you to tell me a bit about yourself, or do we have to switch to another place on the board? Thanks again, Sass

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I am tickled to get some so quickly. But I've found quilters in general to be a great group of people, so it really should be no surprise. Can you tell me a bit about yourself, or would we have to move it to another topic? Sass

Sass, if you click on our names, you can go to all the posts we have made! Another way to learn about each of us is to go to the Major Group of Introduce Yourself on the left side, and look for the name you are interested in.
The more you are on the board, the more you will learn about us. More will always be revealed! We usually don't tell all the first couple times, but share ourselves in bits and pieces! We are a neat group with so many interests and talents, but a common love of fabrics and quilting!
Then there is always the chat sessions. I am on dial up, so I don't enter into the chats, but someday I imagine I will. The people there are so nice too! (Same people as on here, so , of course they are WONDERFUL!)
Hope this answers some of your questions.

sass 06-27-2009 05:47 AM

Hey, how did you make a quilt that looks like an adorable little boy! You must be so talented. Thanks so much for the welcome. Sass

sass 06-27-2009 05:51 AM

Hi there, thanks for the welcome. I'll bet it hot where you are now. I'm in Michigan, and they say people don't quilt much in the summer. It's hot there, what, 9 months of the year? Nice quilt! I can't get over how talented people are. Sass

Hi there, now where is Middleton? My dad's side is from Johnson City Tennessee. The first quilt I ever owned was made for me by my Aunt that lives there. It was a sunbonnet sue. Sass

Hi, my best friend lives in Plymouth MN. I heard you just had a big quilt show there. I used to go for work, and the people there are so friendly. I do appreciate the welcome. Sass

Hi, thanks for the welcome, you must be so proud of your kids! That is awesome. Beautiful quilt, have you been quilting long? Sass

sass 06-27-2009 06:00 AM

It's great to get so many welcoming notes. I wonder how people have time to be on the computer and sew too? My machine is in my basement, because I have a small house. My computer is in my bedroom, but I still spend a lot more time sewing than computing. Sass

Thanks Sharon, I have MS and am active on a med support board, this one works quite differently. I'm afraid I am going to miss a message. But I certainly do thank you for the tips. Sass

Loretta, I was in WI last year for the Madison show. I loved the area. Plus besides seeing the show I went to Nancy's Notions store. We had a great time. I would love to go back, but I have a son that is getting married next year, and have to put all my pennies to that. Thanks for the welcome. Sass

sass 06-27-2009 06:07 AM

Aren't you the little stinker. "We love pictures", but you didn't post one! I am kind of a computer illerate. I have Pictures of everything I've made, but, I need help because I can't get them to do anything. I can't send them, move them or fix them. So eventually, I will "show you mine, if you show me yours". <lol> Sass

sass 06-27-2009 06:08 AM

I love your signature, that might explain a lot about my house too. Although it tends to be in pieces even when I'm not quilting! Thanks for the welcome. Sass

Hi Ducky, as in, Everything is just...
Were you in the area that got all the crazy weather this past winter? I am excited to find this board. Now I just have to make the time to get here. Sass

Hi Karen, I have such a dear friend that lives in Surrey. Actually she invited us to come and stay with her. I met her on a medical support BB. I thought she was very brave to invite us. I credit her for getting me back into quilting, because I made her a wall hanging as a thank you gift for having my son and myself. I LOVED the trip, I can't wait to come back. My husband is an avid gardener, so I know he will love it as well. I was there is 2004, and she came here (Michigan) in 2007.
She also has a son here. It's funny it's cheaper for me to call her in England, than it was to call my mom 10 miles away. Thanks for the welcome. Sass
