Greetings from North Carolina, I just retired and am hoping that now I can find a lot more time to quilt and do other fun things. I have been quilting for about 7 years and I am completely hooked. These forums are really new to me, but I am learning. Hope to talk to everyone soon. Juliebelle in NC

Welcome and congratulations on your retirement! This site is really pretty easy to use and I think you'll find like so many of us on here that it really is like another addicting hobby unto itself.
Is today your first day of retirement? You sure have started off on the right foot. What will you be working on for your first post-career quilt or project?

Hi and welcome from Washington state. I could almost be considered retired as I only work one day a week now. Sure do like that. Gives me lots of time to do things I want to do and a little bit of money to do them with.

You will love this board. It is so addictive. And you can learn so much. Everyone is very helpful if you have questions and you'll love looking at everyone's work. We're looking forward to seeing your projects as you finish them.

Enjoy the new postion in life called retirement.

Juliebelle 04-17-2010 07:55 AM

My last day of work was 3/31 so I have had a couple of weeks to get adjusted. Most of the quilts I have made I have given away so I am searching for a pattern to make one just for me. I am just finishing a train themed quilt for my 4 year old grandson and then I will be on to new adventures. :-P

Hi and a warm welcome from the UK. I retired 7 months ago and I have been so busy ever since with sewing quilts, reading, catching up with all the tv series I never had time to watch and reading that I wonder how I ever found the time to go to work. Retirement is great.

Welcome from Illinois. As others have said before, it seems like my "forced-to-retire" friends and I get less done during the week than we did when we were working. The main thing is to enjoy life, visit when you want, work and travel when you are able, and have good health!

Oklahoma Suzie 04-21-2010 05:42 AM
