I am trying to make a Celtic quilt and would like to use knots in at least the border. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome from Ontario. I ordered the book "Celtic Illusions" but I haven't received it yet. One of my DSIL is from Cape Breton, Canada and likes all things celtic and I hope to find some inspiration in this book to make a quilt that he will like.

I have the book "Celtic Pieced Illusions" by Karen Combs. I haven't done any of her patterns yet, but they don't seem very hard once you see what she does.

You mean a No Sew Quilt ??? Just knotting the outer edge used usually with a fleece? If you do there is a site to go to for that and there is a video showing you how to do it. On u-tube. I think I just googled "no sew blanket/quilt"

I think she is referring to the celtic knotwork designs that look sort of like interwoven ribbon. My DD loves them as well. One of my sons has a book with celtic designs in it. I'll see if I can find out the title.

I am also going to make my man a quilt. It is the only thing he asked me for since I started quilting so I will learn how to do those knots and do them well! Have a great day. Off and quilting! Gail
