Looking for a new machine.
Hi everyone. I am new to this quilting board.(any quilting board for that matter) and would like to know if anyone has any advise for me no purchasing a quilting/sewing/embroidery machine.
I currently sew on an old Pfaff that I have had since 1983. I learned to sew on a Singer treddle machine way back in the 4-H days. I want to really update myself as I my interest in sewing has been reignighted. I have been looking closely at the Brother Dreamweaver and the Baby Lock Unity. Is there any measurable difference? I know they are manufactured by the same company. I would really appreciate some advise from those of you that have more experience on these machines. I have not done embroidery before but really want to get into it. Thanks Lisa (Itchy Litchy) |
Can't help you with what machine to get, but I can welcome you from Ohio.

Hello and welcome from Texas. I would recommend test driving several to get a feel for what you want to do. I love my janome which does all that you want to do.

Welcome to the board, Itchy! :) I, too, would like to upgrade and I've had my eye on the Brother DreamWeaver, but not for embroider (I have a stand alone embroiery machine), but I want it for sewing and quilting. In the next couple of weeks, I plan on going over to my Brother dealer's showroom and doing a little test-driving on one...BUT I'm almost afraid to do this, as I have a feeling I'll cave to financing it... decisions, decisions. :o
