Love this quilting board
I have been reading the posts and seeing the pictures of so many lovely quilts for quite some time. Have learned a lot from so many of you. I finally decided to jump in and join. I have been quilting for many years but feel I have so much yet to learn. And this seems to be a good place for learning. I recently bought a new sewing machine so I can do FMQ and have been learning how to do it. Have always hand quilted all my quilts but can't seem to get them done fast enough that way. At 80 years of age I need to work faster or I'll not get all the quilts done that I have in my mind that I want to make.

Elaine, glad you joined! Welcome from Central Texas. Your post made me smile... I believe that even at 80, you're not "old" yet because you're still thinking of things you want to do, quilts you want to make. The people who are old are the ones who think only about what they have already done. Good for you, and please be sure to share pictures of your work!

Welcome from Utah. I was so happy to hear your age. My own mother, bless her heart, thinks I am too old to quilt! Last year I invested in a new machine and furniture for my sewing pleasures. I am 65 and mom is 84. I am just thrilled to welcome you.

Hello and welcome from Southern Louisiana.

Thanks to all who have taken time to welcome me to the Quilting Board. I feel like I already know some of you from all the posts that I read before I joined. ...and all the beautiful quilts you have made. I will try to put pictures of some of mine on when I can figure out how to do it. I have made more than 80, a lot of them were baby quilts which I give for gifts to great grand babies and to babies of friends and other relatives. I guess I'm really hooked on quilting....if I can't sleep at night ...I lay there and think up a new quilt!

Hello Elaine and I give you another welcome from West Virginia. You didn't say where you're from, but hope you have fun on the board. My mom is 74, hand pieces everything, and is very prolific. I cut out all of her pieces, and I am always behind! LOL.
