What a wonderful online community you have here!

May I join in too? I work with fabric every day (I manage a quilt fabric store) and I'm very much hoping that maybe the readers here will be able to help me make up my mind (my signature says it all).

Would it be against the rules, if I occasionally posted pictures of some of the new fabric collections, for the purpose of asking advice as to which ones I should buy, and which ones are, well, not so good?

It's REALLY hard to choose... as I'm sure you all know! We just had a sales rep stop by this week with some of the new lines and it's spelled Temptation with a capital T! And then another rep sent a box with MORE pictures of upcoming groups (just to confuse me more)... I truly can't get them all - where would I put them? The shop isn't that big!

It's the same problem as with a personal stash... just on a larger scale.

I could also post news from the fabric industry - sometimes I do hear interesting rumors from reliable sources, that might be of some use.

Hoping that you'll say yes... ?

WELCOME, sure you can join. The more the merrier. As for your question about posting on which fabric to buy I dont know why not, but the best thing to do would be to PM one of the moderators, they can help you with that.
Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know you better on the board and see all the great fabric pictures.

Also where is your store? If anyone on the board lives close we could visit in person.

Myrna,

Thank you for the reply, and I like your signature!

Our shop is in Orchard Park, which is where the Buffalo Bills play. In western NY, about an hour south of Niagara Falls.

And no, it's not snowing here now. (I'm well aware of the area's reputation, as to the weather.)

Um... now that I think of it... maybe that's why we have so many snowflake fabrics! And they arrive in June, and July... about the time "snow withdrawal" hits (we can still get snow in May).

Welcome from Colorado! I'm new here too, and I've found each and everyone encouraging and willing to help with choices for fabric, quilts, etc. It would be interesting to hear tidbits about the industry.

I worked in a quilt shop for a while (not long enough, but we moved!) and I loved it when the fabric reps came in. I had to restrain myself from drooling on their goodies!! And I was just a lowly clerk, not the boss, who did get the pleasure of choosing what we put in the shop. It really was fun!! I say, Pick what you love, and then think about what others have said they love. It will be great.

Welcome from MN!

I'm you can post links and pictures from your shop but they would need to be posted in the links section of the Board.

OH - what joy to be around all that fabric all the time!
