Hi! I'm a 24-year-old girl from IA living in MN. I'm just about to start to learn how to quilt and I'm so excited! I've been sewing, cross-stitching, and crocheting for years... it's about time I learned something new :) I work 2 jobs and am planning my wedding, but why wait to start?!? I'm actually going to learn/practice rotary cutting this weekend.

Welcome from the Minneapolis area! Where in MN are you located? There are actually quite a few of us on here. Good luck this weekend and watch out, this hobby is addictive! My suggestion is to jump right in and start a quilt, that's the best way to learn.

This is exactly why I got one that automatically closes! I was always forgetting to close the one I was borrowing!

our quilter teacher, started fining us 50 cents if we walked away from the cutter and forgot to close it! ROFL! Great idea..and you learn really quick to shut it, or she is right there, shaking a can with change in it!Kim

Welcome from Blaine, MN.

You'll find so much info and help here, it's a great place to learn and get advice from the "pros". You'll be hooked in no time.

What quilt shop have you been to and where are you taking your class?
