whoooo - i love it! if it were mine, i'd have to embroider ALL the seams - beautiful. made a cross between crazy & string for by dtr 108" x 108". have an embroidery book with 101 different stitches and tried to use all of them.

Hey we are working on the same thing, I just finished one, 7 blocks across by 9 blocks down. I also added a stripe border on both sides. My blocks are 9 1/2 x 9 1/2. I am now working on a floral, ( girly ). This will be my 3rd one. I save my scraps cut them into strips and just stash them til I have enough. How do you finish it off? Do you tie it or quilt it, batting or not.
Yours is lovely. |
Welcome! Love your quilt.

the reason i love string quilts is because it's so easy. my dtr picked out the colors - i cut strips and randomly sewed 'em tog. i love the freedom. besides, after you get them sewn to the foundation, you can take one block & some embroidery thread in your purse anywhere you go. never a dull moment waiting for anything.
