Does anyone know where to find fabric with the word nana on it. I am making a quilt for someones grandma who passed away. Thankk you friends and fellow quilters.
|
I'm called Nana. I've never seen it on material. How about embroidery? I use it all the time because Nana seems rare. As does YaYa - my sister's "name".

Welcome Nana from hot and beautiful Arizona.
You can make your own fabric by using diluted bleach. 1 part bleach to 2 parts water. Choose a plain dark color. Using a small brush, write the name NANA on the fabric and as soon as the name appears, rinse the fabric in cold water several times. You can also use a rubber stamp instead of the brush. Try the process on several small pieces of fabric before doing an entire piece of fabric. You could even carve the name out of a potato and use that as a stamp. |
Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!!
You could also embroider "Nana" on the quilt by hand or by machine |

Welcome, Nana, from WV. Try a Clorox bleach pen. Ask me how I know...go ahead...I am the old lady with "help" in white across the front of one of her blue sweatshirts. Really too long of a story, but was not intended, for sure.

Welcome from Texas. I have nexer seen any fabric with "NANA" on it. If you can't find any and you don't need too much of the fabric, maybe get some Printed Treasures printable fabric, choose a background in Word or some other program you are familiar with (or scan a fabric that would work), then add the word "NANA" in various fonts, sizes and places and print your own.

I have seen quilts called Nana's quilts but not "nana" fabric.
|
Wow, I spent many years looking for greeting cards for my Nana!
Good luck with your search and welcome from Rhode Island, The Ocean State! |
Hello! Welcome from a Nana in SC!

sorry I don't welome from michigan

Lots of shops with the name Nana but nothing with fabric with it. Depending on how large the quilt you could find a way to put it on the fabric and dye it. Why not they do tie dying? If you had a large stamp made with Nana on it it could be done.
I saw one done for a mother in law by her dau in law and it was muslin with hand prints of all her children, spouces and grandchildren. Then all the muslin squares were beautifully tied together with various blues (the mother in laws colors) and it was a memory for her. Maybe that will give you some ideas. |
Welcome, from one Nana to another.

Welcome to the board from Spring, Tx.
You might get a better response to your question if you post it under the "Members buy, sell, trade" section as an ISO (In search of) "Nana fabric" or ask if someone can embroider it for you. You could also try to post it in the "main" section. |
