Need help with Power Quilter p3 before I throw it out

I am new to this forum (and not good with posting to websites). I have a Power Quilter p3 and am trying to learn to use it. I am so frustrated I could just throw it out, except I have about 20 quilts to quilt of my own.

I can't get the machine to stitch at all. It has been several months since I used the machine (I winter away from home so couldn't use it). Everything appears to run just fine, except it will not make a stitch. I have changed threads, bobbins, needles, cleaned the bobbin area, oiled the machine......nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a P3 - is it possible that the needle is not quite in far enough?

I changed the needle twice and pushed it up as far as it goes just to be sure it was right. Still no luck.

confirm you have the "right" needle. Some machines dont operate with the standard sizes and needs a specialty needle. Check the manual.

I used the needles the dealer sold me with the machine. Just to be sure I put the old needle back in and still no luck. The dealer is over 50 miles away, so can't just run over there either.

Can you give the dealer a call? Maybe they would have some suggestions of things you could try at home.

I hope that someone can help you. Are there any classes or a dealer to take it to near your home? Welcome to the board.
