I'm new to the board - have been 'lurking' here in Eastern Tennessee for some time, but finally decided I needed to get 'on board' so I could join in the fun - BUT, I'm having problems with your jargon. Not as computer lingo savy as some of you are. I've figured out what LOL (laughing out loud), DH (darling (?) husband), GD, DIL and ISO are, but some of the others are waaaaay beyond me and I'm former military, used to acronymns. Anyone with a link to the thesaurus? Loving what's been happening since I've joined and have enjoyed being able to put my pennys worth (I don't have two cents to put any more - LOL). Thanks ladies (and gents) for making my day most days. A laugh a day is way better than the apple.

There is a thread here somewhere which explains most (all?) of the quilting related acronyms.

A few that you will run into quite often:

LQS - local quilt shop
FQ - Fat Quarter
FMQ - Free Motion Quilting
LA - Long Arm, or Long Armer (one who uses a long arm)
WOF - Width of Fabric - you'll also see this acronym on a lot of patterns used in conjunction with cutting directions and yardage requirements

Welcome to the board!! you'll get the lingo soon enough

Go to SEARCH at top and put in Acronyms. You'll get the whole story!! Welcome here!!

Welcome. Just ask if you have a question. Someone will be glad to help. I bet a link will be posted soon. Probably before I finish writing. LOL!
