Merry Christmas Everyone!
I have been an avid reader of this forum for quite a long time, but have never posted before. After seeing so many of your beautiful quilts, I became painfully aware of not having made photos of any of mine. So this year, I made my first photo of what is my 13th quilt.

I still consider myself a novice and use a beginners basic sewing machine. I don't have the patience for hand quilting, but try to quilt on my machine. It's not great, but still looks nice. I am getting better and have 4 quilts planned for this year (this might be overly optimistic). BTW, hubby is buying me a new sewing machine for Christmas! I get to pick it out . How cool is that?

Anyway, here is a photo of my bargello. Hope you enjoy.

Welcome!

Your bargello is beautiful. My wife and I work together, and I usually pick fabric and patterns, because I do the cutting. But, she has decided we have to do a bargello. I hope ours turns out as great as yours.

Merry Christmas!

Darren

Thanks Darren,
I wanted to do one for quite some time, but was more than a little intimidated. Once started, it turned out to be one of the easiest!

Greetings from Northern CA. Hate to tell you: You are not a novice when you turn out quilts like that. Nicely done.

Thank you all for the kudos! My husband liked this one so much he has asked for one like it for him. I'm afraid he has quite a wait as I have focus issues and it makes me slow to finish projects.

Happy holidays!
Roxanne

Hi there - If you are a "newbie" and did that nephew quilt, then I have one arm off at the elbow !!! Great job ! Im new too....but I'm really really new !

Roxanne 12-26-2009 08:41 AM

Hi Jan and thanks!

I'm really good at reading and following instructions...This particular design hides a lot of errors. I can't maintain straight seam to save my soul and routinely have to rip out stitches going in the wrong direction.

But, it makes me happy and all my family so far have been thrilled to get their own quilts.

Your bargello is really beautiful. Love the red/black/white theme. They are always so striking as your is.
Better watch out bargellos are addictive.

I think it's beautiful! Great job! I would like to do one in batiks, but I'm a little batik crazy right now, lol.
