Hi. I'm Tia. i started quilting this year. i gave up my sewing room so my daughter could have her own room. She could not find any bedding she liked for her room. So i told her i could make her a quilt. she liked the idea we went out and picked out fabric together. it was great bonding time with her. her being 13 that time is getting harder and harder to get. i have a friend who quilts and she made me a quilt for my bed for my birthday 2 years ago so i asked her a lot of questions. she let me borrow some books. i read them and made my first quilt and i am hooked. it was the split rail fence block. i also made a quilt for my son to give to his great-grand mother and she loves it.

My granddaughter is 12 1/2 so I try and do as much with her as it won't last. She still loves coming here which is nice. She is her after school every night for about 3 hours then wants to spend the weekend. She already has it planned (haven't told us yet only Mom) that she is spending the night tonight as no school tomorrow.
