Welcome nanaof2!
Nice to see another quilter from Tennessee! I'm from Soddy-Daisy, not too far from you. Are there any quilt shops up your way? I'm always looking for new stores within a 100 mile or so vicinity. Again, welcome! Shelia (Also a Granny of 2!) |
Yes Shelia, we have a two quilt shops in Cookeville, and one in Rickman.
Rickman is on hwy 111, not far from my house. Would love for you to come to Cookeville. If you do let me know and I will take you to the shops. I enjoy the shop in Rickman very much. Thanks for the welcome, Bettie |

Hi nanaof2, it is never to late to start quilting. I am from Murfreesboro, Tn, but live in Florida now. I quilt when ever I have a even a few minutes to quilt. It has become my passion. I belong to 3 different quilt groups and they are a big help. I started quilting 38 years ago, my grandmother taught me. I do think if you can find a group close to you it will give you inspiration.

Good morning Bettie,
I just might take you up on your invitation sometime this summer! A friend of mine has family in Cookeville and she has been telling me about the beautiful barns in Algood with the quilt blocks painted on them. She showed pictures of them to me and now I just have to see them for myself! We could visit the quilt shop too! I love quilting road trips!! Have a wonderful day! Shelia |
Hi and Welcome from Oklahoma.

Hello from Kansas. Good luck, you will be hooked. Watch out.

Welcome from Murfreesboro,Tn glad you joined, this is a wonder group and it will keep you motivated. I love the Most Amazing Shop in Cookeville, haven't been there in awhile. There is a wonderful shop in Watertown Country Store the owner is Margie she is a wonderful person. A group of us used to go to Crossville to Yoder's quilt lodge it closed in August, what a loss. There is another fablous shop in Harriman called Loose thread Elaine is the owner. I have never been to Rickman, how long has that shop been opened? Stay intouch.

fabric9patcher, Rickman shop has been open two or three years, maybe longer.
Have you been to the quilt shop in Sparta? A nice shop in Sparta and it might be larger than the one in Rickman. Kathy Dishman, in Rickman, is so helpful and a very nice lady. |

Hello and Welcome :-D :-D
|
GailG, the avatar is the first quilt I have ever made. My grandson wanted to make a quilt for his 5 grade project. The studies had been studying Underground
Railroad. He decided the two of us could make a quilt with each block telling part of the story. We had a great time making it, although I did get a bit anxious a few times. Oh, he made an A + on the project. He cut out and also sewed on the project. Bettoe |
Great story! Great quit!!
