New from Australia
Hi everyone. I am from the Snowy Mountains area of NSW. Am a passionate quilter, have been quilting for about 9 years and only regret that I do not have enough years left to tackle all the wonderful projects that present themselves to my overactive imagination.
I love living here in this beautiful part of Australia and share my life with a wonderful and supportive husband, an elegant gentleman cat, and an abundance of wildlife. Our two daughters live not too far away and we have two grandchildren. I am curious to know how many other Aussies are out there in Quilting Board land ... lots, I imagine. Am really looking forward to getting to know you all. Mary B |
Greetings and welcome from New Hampshire

Hi Mary
I am from Campbelltown NSW glad to meet another person from Australia |
Hi and Welcome from Las Vegas. Years ago I had a very dear friend from Australia. She came to the US with her American husband and lived across the street from us. Sadly for me after about 5 years they moved back to Queensland. My family and I saw them off on the ship in San Francisco. We wrote over the years and then I got a note from her son that she had passed away. She was such a sweet and dear friend and we always talked about someday maybe I could go to Australia and see her. You will find they are quite a few of your mates on this board and everyone is so helpful and nice, I know you will be happy joining all of us....

Hi Lyn. My next-door-neighbour moved here from Campbelltown. Where's your nearest quilt shop? Do you visit the one at Camden?
|
Hello ShabbyTabby. So sorry to hear you lost your Australian friend. Do you think you will ever visit Australia now or is that not likely?
Thank you for the welcome, I am looking forward to joining in here and sharing with you all. |
Hello and welcome from Maleny, Queensland. Another beautiful part of our country

Howdy from NC! there are several of your neighbors here on this board! (you may not know them...yet)
A great way to meet people on this board is to jump into some of the swaps we have such as the December Doll Quilt Swap.... here is a link you can read and see if you would like to give it a try. We have a swapper who lives in Australia too! http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...p-t206348.html We have so much fun with this swap. NO PRESSURE at all with the doll quilts. We offer themes but purely optional. Give it a thought! We would love to have you! |

Hi Mary,
Right now I am visiting my daughter and family in North Melbourne. I come to visit every year. I live in southern California near Disneyland. I hope to make it over to NSW to check it out. Welcome to the board. There are other Aussies on this board. Barb |
Hi Mary, welcome from Canberra :) You'll get plenty more ideas here, be sure to post some pictures, we all love pictures :)

Hi Mary B. I am from Perth, Western Australia and am just re-kindling my interest in Quilting. I am just getting back into quilting after a hiatus of quite a few years. I have two grown kids, each with their families. They live too far away for my liking. One on the south coast of WA and the other in Tassie. [so I am just a Nanna on the Phone]
This is my first post on this board - so I will say welcome to you and me! Lynley |
Welcome to the board.

Thank you so much everyone for your very warm welcome to the Board. I feel as though I have been on tour in USA, Canada - and Australia.
Sewgarden, I have not visited Maleny myself but my daughter has and I know you can share equal pride with us in your beautiful part of Australia. Lynley, I guess I can say "Welcome" to you too as we have come in here together. I hope you really get great joy from your second encounter with quilting - it is my passion. Whereabouts in Canberra are you Woody? When we visit, we usually go in from the north side and so aften I feel the need for a 'comfort stop' at Gold Creek (hee hee). I guess you could say Calico Patch know me well, and so conveniently situated, right next to the comfort rooms. Barb, if you make it into NSW will you be visiting the Snowy Mountains Hydro area? We are at Talbingo on the northern side and would love to meet you if you are passing through. Lisa, I am thinking very seriously about joining the Doll Quilt Swap, thank you for the kind invitation. I know I must be very quick as it closes in a day or two. Donna, I think I am getting ready to jump right in - only need to check to make sure I can honour the commitment. It would be awful to bomb out on my very first swap! Cheers to all |
Hi Mary
I am Southside, right down south, couldn't get much further south LOL. Do you ever come for the craft and quilt fair in August? I haven't been to the Calico Patch yet, I don't often get that far north, I might have to make a trip one day. If you do get a chance to join the doll quilt swaps, they are a lot of fun and a great way of meeting new people. I wish I had more time to do them again, hopefully one day soon. |
Hi Mary, Welcome to the QB from North Carolina :). Glad you could join us.
