Hello all!

I've been lurking here for a few months and have finally desided to take the plunge. I have to many questions building up. I seen how wonderful supportive this group is and that is exactly what I need. I have a long way to go but willing to learn everything I can.

A bit about me. I live in central Iowa with a full house. BF, 2 sons (12 & 13), psudo-step-daughter (14), 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a ferret. I only started quilting a couple months ago by complete accident. I never thought I would ever be quilting!

I look forward to picking all your brains and learning from each one of you.

Shelly

Welcome Shelly

I am also fairly new to the message board, I joined in July. You will find that you love quilting. I tried many different types of crafts, but quilting is what I have stayed with. You will find everyone here to be very helpful.

Can I ask where in sw Iowa you are? I lived in Farragut from 92-99. Then moved to Omaha for a while before moving back 'home' in south central Iowa.

I'm in Council Bluffs, Shelly :-) Although I am doing my best to plan a road trip to Winterset next weekend for the Fons and Porter warehouse sale  I lived and worked in Omaha/Bellevue/Elkhorn for many years and usually make a trip in each weekend. I keep hearing about the shop in Creston; one of the local Viking dealers and I are making a trip over there soon to check it out.

shellyp 08-10-2008 01:16 PM

I live about 20 miles from Winterset. I seen on another thread that someone had gotten fabric at a Ben Franklin store. I had thought I seen one in Winterset. So Friday I went over. They had more stuff in there than I figured they would. Then when I was backing out of my parking space, Fons and Porter! I had parked almost right in front of the store and not even seen it!!! I had no idea their store was in Winterset.

I don't know about the Creston shop. What's the name of it? Maybe I'll get over there sometime. I don't go that way often.
