I am both a science teacher and college advisor. I love my job, but I do wish I had more time to quilt throughout the school year. In that respect, I do look forward to retirement; but that will likely still be a number of years from now.

I promise you that you will not have more time to quilt after retirement. The "community" grabs you. And it's great, but you're pretty busy. Even after 12 years, I'm still not able to say NO sometimes.
