Hi all!

I'm from New Orleans, LA and I'm fairly new to the quilting world. I joined a local quilting club & they've been very patient at trying to teach me everything!! I'm new to sewing, too, so I'm learning the very basics plus. A friend from the quilt group recommened this site, so here I am! Looking forward to absorbing as much info as this old brain of mine can handle. Rae

I'm new at this, I have made a few quilts and have loads of material, I have been reading this board for quite a while.

I have just finished a baby quilt. It has a problem. The squares are poofing up. I keep spreading it out on the floor and after a while the squares that have sashing around them poof up, everything sewed together just fine and matched the whole 9. Has anyone had this happen?

New to the forum as well. Christina from Cleveland. I've been doing more quilting and am self taught (aka school of tension issues and hard knocks) but loving every minute of it.
Glad to be here.
My dream? A long arm machine... (visualize copious drooling).
I have more in common with my textile junky artists than I thought possible.
Love and Light to all,
Christina

oh Queen can I relate, I want to long arm quilt so badly. Even have a blog that I just started up to talk about quilting and machine quilting. So we can pass the towel around and mop up the drool together! LOL

Welcome Rae and Queenopearls. I agree that Queenopearls needs to go to the 'Tell us what your name means' thread!

Sounds like bobbin may be too tight. Look on backside to see how tight it looks there as opposed to the top. Did you adjust fabric type before sewing together? Couple of suggestions. Hope it helps. You might have to rip some seams out & try again, after adjusting.

I didn't make it to the Sewing Expo in Cleveland this past March. Bummer. I'm definitely saving for a long arm. I thought I wanted a Gammill but now am gah-gah over the Innova.

barely West of Cleveland where it is a rainy Spring again.
PS, I did answer what my name means and where it came from. A part of my brain which giggles frequently.
