New to Forum
I'm a fairly new quilter who is hoping to become better at this hobby. I'm retired from a fast paced, high stress career and enjoying a calm, peaceful lifestyle. I am slowly recovering from cancer and hope to soon be declared a cancer survivor. I'm a proud grandmother of five and love each and everyone of them dearly. I enjoy gardening and hope to resume designing my outdoor haven this fall.

Welcome from the MidWest! I have a brown thumb but love to see pictures of beautiful gardens. The only flowers I don't ruin are those on quilts.
Enjoy your retirement and grandkids - you've earned it! |

Hello Mary Ruth, welcome from NE Ohio.

Well evidently you got up in and became vertical. Every day you do that you are a survivor because you are alive. I was diagnosed and had my treatments and a lumpectomy. I am not making light of your situation. Each follow up has been good for me. You are a perfectly imperfect human being who's been through a lot! Come on it's traumatic in every sense of the word. What I did when I started feeling a little down was walk outside no matter how bad the weather and look at the celestial ceiling above me. I knew that soon the gray clouds would be moved by the power of the wind and God's breath so I could see the dark sky with those big beautiful stars or I'd see the sun shining in the bright blue sky. Go ahead and stick that chest out and let those children know how proud you are. Enjoy every minute. Learn to laugh at spilled milk and if the house work doesn't get done, don't worry it'll be there next month! I just give it a lick and a promise to do better the next time with my fingers crossed! Enjoy the Quilting Board, it's like an encyclopedia of information. Don't sweat the small stuff. Don't worry about deadlines, there's always Wal-Mart and gift cards.
