New to Forum
Hello all! I am looking forward to learning from you all. Am pretty new to sewing and got my Janome out in March after having it for 6 years and only using it for hemming and repairs. I started out sewing in my dining room and after acquiring so much fabric and the tools for sewing it was quite a mess, so my husband cleared out space in our storage room and I am now able to store things properly. It is so nice to have things handy. Stay safe and be well.

Hi Penny and welcome from Southern California! You're in for lots of good information, kind and sharing people and sewing excitement. I have a Janome too, and am very pleased with it.

It's a wonderful thing when we have our own sewing/work space :)
I have a very tolerant husband and in interest of my health, I went from having everything contained within one very small room to spread through the house so "I can get my steps in". Which I do now.... but the ironing board is a permanent resident of the living room and we don't eat at the table (not that we did before) because it's my cutting/work surface. Anyway -- happy to have you here. |

Welcome Penny to the QB from SE Michigan! I know many of us have the same storage issues as you shared. I have 2 rooms that are dedicated to my sewing/quilting. One has my Grace frame and machine and the other houses most of my sewing supplies and other machines and the majority of my fabrics with reaches into the thousands of yards of fabrics. I am now working from my stash for most of my quilting projects. I know what you mean about being a bit overwhelmed with fabrics. I am glad you reached out to join us. Jump right into all the fun. I look forward to seeing a lot of you here. Again welcome to the QB.

Lots of questions
Hi! I'm new to the Quilting Board and new to quilting. Just finishing my first quilt and have lots of questions about adding sashing, borders, woollen batting, backing, and, of course, actual quilting. I look forward to learning from you all.
