My name is Kathi Fickel and I have recently joined your Quilting Board. I reside in Pennsylvania in a little town known as Duncannon. I have always loved quilts and the stories they tell, so I decided to contact a LQS and take a few lessons. That was a year ago and I can't believe how much I love to quilt. I have made a quilt for each of the six grandchildren for their b-days, made quilts for our 4 children and their spouses, made baby quilts for charity, wallhanging and candlemats for gifts. I am currently working on a baby quilt for my expecting niece and soon will be starting a baby quilt for grandchild #7 due to arrive in August. When people say you really have the quiltbug, they are so right!! It is very relaxing and rewarding. I love to get fresh ideas and tips from experienced quilters, it only helps me grow with knowledge. Glad to part of this forum!!!

Thank you! Our youngest son is a Major with the 82nd Airborne as a Public Affairs liason. i'm sure you are as proud of your children as we are of him. I'm glad your daughter is home safe and sound. Our son spent a year or so in Iraq last year.

Actually I'm at the other side of the state, northwest of Harrisburg. I have an Aunt and 2 cousins that live in New Castle PA, I try to get out to see them at least 2 or 3 times a year and my aunt quilts, too!!!

Thank you in Norway!! Glad to be here. My grandmother was born in Liverpool England and moved to DuQuesne PA when she was very young, raised 7 boys and 1 girl and was married 52 years before my pap passed away and now she's gone too!! She used to make the bonecrusher quilts from wool suits and anything else available. Someday I plan on making one of those, too!!!
