the manual should tell you what kind you need, my Brother machine uses the PES format, once you know the format, just read the manual and see if you need special software or if you can download direct to your machine, mine you have to have software and then transfer to the machine

yours is a direct connect with a usb or a serial so you can buy the software from dealers or online, nice setup by the way lol

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!!

Welcome from Texas. I don't know anything about embroidery machines, but I think you've found a good place to ask because a lot of quilters use them. You could hardly find a better use for that machine, in fact, than for making designs on quilt blocks, or labels to identify who made them when and where.

Welcome from Indiana! Word of warning, if you stick around here, you'll be using that emb. machine on quilt blocks before you know what happened, then you'll be hooked! :-)

Welcome from Georgia. Once you get the embroidery thing figured out, you'll begin to wonder what else you can do with your machine. Then you'll be embroidering focus squares for quilts. We'll be here to help you get it all together.

Welcome from Idaho. Don't know anything about your machine, but I love my brother embroidery machine. I like to do embroidery on the center patch of a nine patch block.

Doreen 06-03-2011 06:02 PM

Hello and Welcome from NorCal. I too don't know anything about your make of machine but I love my Bernina Artista. I have software that runs on my computer that I can edit the embroidery files with then download either direct to the machine or on a jump drive. Careful, if you hang around here you'll be stitching up blocks before you know it and you'll become one of us :-) - which is NOT a bad thing!

Lv2sew2011 06-03-2011 09:35 PM

Welcome from Oklahoma, I sewwwww much want a embroidery machine, that's my next purchased hopefully soon! Good Luck getting answer, I know there are a lot of people on this board that uses them...

Keeps Them In Stitches 06-03-2011 09:40 PM

Welcome from Washington State. :) I'm also of the opinion that you'll be making centers for quilt blocks on your embroidery machine before too long... We're a great source for inspiration and encouragement. Stick around... maybe some of us will want you to make labels for your quilts on your embroidery machine... you never know.

CarrieAnne 06-04-2011 03:35 PM

welcome!

Welcome from W TX. I think you found the best place to find info about your machine, & even if you never quilt you are welcome here!

Marvel 06-05-2011 06:19 AM

Don't speak to soon. Think of a butter fly on each plain block. Enhance with the emb machine. Have you thought to check with the manufactor for getting some of the extras? How about Craigs list? See if the manufactor offers a on line catalog.

Greetings Washee, and welcome from Auntie B from Saskatchewan, (rhymes with Scratch-N-Win) Canada. Your user name is quite different, (not that a lot of others aren't also) it wouldn't happen to be cree, or metis ? Just curious. Welcome again. Hope you enjoy the board, I love it here, I think I spend too much time here, instead of really quilting, my friend asked if I was a real quilter or a "Virtual Quilter" lol
