I am new to the quilters board but I have been reading and looking at everyone's messages for a long time. I have never made a quilt without tieing them off with yarn. I am wanting to make my sister a purple quilt with a very, very simple pattern. I can not use small pieces. I have arthritis and they do not work for me. I would really like something with a pattern size of 8" block (single). I would appreciate anyone's help. I would really like to surprise her with it. She absolutely loves purple. I thank everyone for there great patterns and their help. Lura George from Indiana

Welcome aboard from another Indiana resident!
I love the disappering 9 patch and it can be made with larger pieces. ShellyQ has a tutorial on 9 patches with great instructions at http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/6460.page I'll see if I can find the disappering 9 site here, too. If not, I know I've seen it as a free pattern online. |
Oh, here it is....
